Palace in the Air

Badrutt’s Palace’s first-ever self-branded plane takes flight on 14 February, from Biggin Hill Airport to Samedan. The launch of the hotel’s carbon-neutral aircraft celebrates the centennial anniversary of the first flight between London and St. Moritz.

Exactly 100 years ago, on 14 February 1920, Swiss pilot and aviation pioneer Alfred Comte completed an unprecedented flight from Switzerland to the UK. His departure point? The iconic St. Moritz lake right in front of the hotel.

Today, the Palace in the Air’s easy check-in process, swift flight time and the 30-seat Dornier 328 jet usher in a new era for Badrutt’s Palace and its guests. On board, passengers can enjoy dedicated services by Badrutt’s Palace staff and in-flight catering by celebrity chef partner Jason Atherton, during the 1-hour-and-45-minute journey from London to the hotel in St. Moritz.
