Belmond Andean Explorer

The Belmond Andean Explorer takes you on a journey along one of the highest train routes in the world at a height of 4,800 meters. Here you’ll explore the wonders of the Andean landscape as you travel in Belmond’s hallmark luxury and comfort.

Four different routes are available with a duration that varies from tow to three days and takes passengers on a magnificent discovery of the breathtaking landscapes as they journey from Cusco, the former capital of the Inca Empire, along La Raya with its herds of alpaca grazing, to the quaint beauty of Lake Titicaca, past the vastness of the Colca Canyon with arrival in Arequipa, one of the UNESCO’s World Heritage sites.

The train has a capacity to accommodate 48 guests. As you travel the observation car with its open deck, is the best place to take in the surrounding scenery while enjoying a drink. Two dining cars are available serving delicious meals with locally sourced ingredients. For additional relaxation, the Picaflor Spa Car is available with its special treatments and therapies featuring natural Andean ingredients to help you unwind.

Afterwards guests can stop at the lounge car, complete with a baby grand piano, for a nightcap as they take in the view. The train does not travel during the night to ensure ensuring its guest’s a proper night’s sleep. There are four types of cabin, each with en-suite bathroom, that range in size from Deluxe or Junior Double bed to cabins with twin or bunk beds. All 24 cabins are sumptuously decorated featuring traditional Peruvian accents including warm Alpaca wool blankets to keep you warm.  Make the most of your trip with a stay at one of Belmond’s six hotels in the area and discover Peru in grand style.
